For vendors
Is this your product?
Every product in a category we cover gets evaluated from its public pages, whether or not the vendor takes part. Here is what a claimed listing lets you do, and the rules that keep the index fair to everyone.
What you can do
Not listed yet? Ask us
Tell us what the product is and which of your pages to read. Name a category we run and the product enters the index straight away — as a draft. Being listed costs nothing and changes no score, and a draft is not a page: the panel reads your public evidence like everyone else’s, and a page appears only once there is enough proven evidence for one.
Claim your listing
Register with your address at the product’s own domain. That verified address is the proof, and it approves the claim on the spot; free-mail addresses are refused. An approved claim gets you everything on this page and a right of reply rendered on the product page.
Correct any fact
Every fact cites its source. Show us where one is wrong and it is corrected and republished — facts are correctable, opinions are labelled opinions. Every correction is decided within 5 business days. This one needs no account at all; it is open to any reader.
Fill the gaps
When a claim does not survive our verification we remove the claim, not your page, and say so under “What we left out”. Your portal lists those holes. Send us the price, the certificate or the clause with the page it can be read on, and it goes through the same checks as anything else.
Add screenshots and media
Upload screenshots. Each is checked against the rules you accepted, and you hear the outcome either way; accepted ones render on the page labelled vendor-supplied and are structurally excluded from the scoring pipeline.
Widen the evidence base
Point the harvest at more of your public surface — docs, trust center, changelog, status page — so the panel judges from your best evidence, not just your homepage.
Ask for another reading
Published a price or a certification since we last looked? Ask the panel to read your pages again, once every 30 days per product. It buys a reading, never an outcome: the score can go down.
What stays out of anyone’s reach
- Pay for anything. There is no price list and no order form on this site.
- Change a score, a rank or a verdict. Those are the judges’ opinions, labelled as such, and a supported objection is published next to them rather than replacing them.
- Have your page taken down because you dislike the reading. A wrong fact comes off as soon as the source disagrees with it.
- Have a correction published on your word alone. It is checked against the source you name.
Our crawler
We read vendors’ public pages with an automated browser that says who it is. It identifies itself with this user agent:
Mozilla/5.0 (compatible; whats-best/1.0; +https://whats-best.ai/for-vendors#crawler)
It reads only pages that need no login, one page at a time per site with a pause between requests, and it keeps a dated capture of each page as the evidence a fact is cited to.
It honours robots.txt. To keep it out of your site, add:
User-agent: whats-best Disallow: /
A product whose pages we may not read cannot be evaluated from them, so its page may show little or nothing.
