As of 28 Oct 2026, the panel rates Billbee 2.5/5 and Linnworks 3/5 in Supply Chain & Logistics. Weighted by what each judge cares about, 1 of the 6 judges picks Billbee and 5 pick Linnworks. Billbee scores higher on 1 of 6 criteria (European sovereignty). Linnworks scores higher on 5 of 6 criteria (Warehouse operations: receiving, picking & packing, Inventory & stock control, Multi-carrier shipping & returns, plus 2 more). Provenance — Billbee: EU-Made; Linnworks: UK / wider Europe. Ratings are the AI panel’s opinion, formed from public evidence: how scores are made.
Billbee and Linnworks split the seven criteria in opposite directions. Linnworks leads on inventory control at 6.8 versus 5.3, warehouse operations at 6.0 versus 4.0 and shipping and returns at 6.2 versus 4.8 — six judges lean its way on each, none the other. Billbee leads on sovereignty at 6.8 versus 4.2, its verdict citing German substantive law, an Article 28 GDPR data processing agreement and Hetzner servers in Nürnberg, and on pricing transparency at 3.8 versus 1.7, where its tiers are open and Linnworks is quote-only, a B2B norm per the bench; six judges lean Billbee on each. Freight and transport is a near-tie at 0.3 apiece — two judges lean Billbee, one Linnworks, three tie — and integration and automation sits at 6.2 against 6.3, one lean Billbee, two Linnworks, three tie. Weighted totals favor Linnworks for five judges and Billbee 5.8 to 5.6 for the integration lead.
Choose Billbee if
You need to see the plan structure before buying: Billbee's tiers are open — Starter up to 200 orders, Growth from 200 orders — though the captured pages show no euro figure for any plan.
Your data must sit under German substantive law with an Article 28 GDPR data processing agreement and Hetzner servers in Nürnberg on 100 per cent green electricity.
You need subprocessors named individually — Billbee lists Mixpanel, Segment and Webflow — rather than listed by category only.
Your accounting runs on DATEV: Billbee offers export by CSV file or direct Buchungsdatenservice, plus if-then rules automating invoices, labels and tracking feedback.
Your integration lead makes the call: their weighted total is 5.8 for Billbee against 5.6 for Linnworks.
Choose Linnworks if
You need stock recorded per location and pushed to 100+ channels every few minutes; inventory control stands at 6.8 against Billbee's 5.3, with six judges leaning Linnworks.
Your team needs scan-guided picking in the warehouse; warehouse operations stands at 6.0 against Billbee's 4.0, six judges leaning Linnworks.
You run parcel shipping at volume and need automatic tracking plus return labels for five named vendors — Royal Mail needs a workaround, per the verdict.
Your warehouse manager or fulfilment provider holds the pen: their weighted totals are 6.4 and 6.3 against Billbee's 4.9 and 4.8.
You build on QuickBooks or NetSuite sync partners and an open API with a developer portal, alongside 100+ two-way connectors.

The Fulfilment Provider
Runs a 3PL warehouse with twenty-two client brands, each on a different shop system. Wants one WMS that keeps every client's stock and orders apart, connects to whatever shop the next client brings, ships on the client's own carrier contracts or the house rates, and turns picks, storage and packaging into a client invoice.

Criterion by criterion
Inventory & stock control
Billbee
Stock per item and warehouse with a storage location, current, minimum and target quantities, reorder suggestions for purchasing, and real-time synchronisation across shops and marketplaces to prevent overselling — that is sound single-merchant stock keeping. For a multi-client warehouse I found no public information on batches, serial numbers, best-before dates, a movement history booked per reason and user, or keeping several clients' stock apart.
Linnworks
Stock is held per location with a Stock Item History ledger, pushed one-way to every linked channel within minutes, backed by purchase orders, low-stock replenishment alerts, bin locations, lot expiry tracking and kits resolved under one SKU. Serial-number tracking is documented for North America only, and we found no public information on stocktaking cycles or a stated inventory valuation method, which stops me short of the top band.
Pick lists, item labels with barcodes for warehouse picking, and scanning the delivery-note barcode to call up the order at the packing station are documented, and a warehouse tool (VentoryOne) is included at no extra charge. I found no public information on goods receipt against purchase orders, putaway, batch or wave picking, or pick and error rates per shift, and the terms themselves state the application is not optimised for mobile devices — a constraint for scanner-guided work on the floor.
Linnworks
Goods receipt against a purchase order, bin locations, organised picking routes, a scanning mobile app and a tray-picking workflow that scans tote, SKU and tray are all documented in help pages I could check. We found no public information on batch and wave strategies beyond directional pickwaves, packing verification or pick and error rates per shift, and the client-facing 3PL portal is marked North America only — a real limit for my multi-client floor.
Multi-carrier shipping & returns
Billbee
Labels for DHL, DPD, Hermes and more are generated in the system, tracking numbers go automatically to customers and back to the shops and marketplaces, and return labels run through DHL, Hermes, DPD and GLS with cancellation invoices sent automatically once an order comes back. Whether a client can ship on its own carrier contract or must use the vendor's rates, and customs documents for non-EU parcels, are things I found no public information on.
Linnworks
Seventy-plus carriers connect on our own accounts and negotiated rates with live rates, labels and tracking written back to the channels, carrier choice runs off automatic allocation rules, and customs data — HS tariff code, country of origin, goods description, duties paid type, export reason — is configurable per item for international services. Returns are the weak link for my brands: return labels work for a named vendor list only, Royal Mail needs a workaround, and we found no public information on a self-service returns portal or branded tracking pages.
Freight & transport management
Billbee
The captured pages describe a parcel-carrier world only — DHL, DPD, Hermes, Deutsche Post — and present the product as cloud software for online sellers; I found no public information on pallet or groupage booking, freight quotes and tenders, transport documents such as CMR, multi-modal tracking or CO2 per shipment. Anything beyond parcels would run outside this system as far as the published material shows.
Linnworks
We found no public information on pallet, groupage or full-truckload freight booking, tendering, transport documents such as CMR, multi-modal tracking or per-shipment CO2 reporting; the pricing, features and shipping help pages we read cover parcel carriers and customs data only.
Integrations, automation & exit
Billbee
More than 150 connectors — Shopify, WooCommerce, Shopware 5 and 6, Gambio, Magento, Amazon, eBay, Etsy, OTTO Market, Kaufland, TikTok — plus a public API and if-then workflow rules for invoices, labels and tracking feedback mean the next client's shop platform is almost certainly covered, and DATEV exports run both as CSV and through the direct Buchungsdatenservice interface. I found no public information on webhooks, EDI, documented API rate limits and versioning, or a detailed end-of-contract export of orders, stock movements and shipments — only a general export option in the application is mentioned.
Linnworks
More than a hundred channels connect natively and two-way, there is an open API with a developer portal, a rules engine routes orders across own warehouse, 3PL and dropship, and named partners extend the reach — iPaaS.com for hub-and-spoke flows across ERP, CRM, PIM and WMS, DBSync for QuickBooks and NetSuite with order, payment and customer sync. We found no public information on webhooks, EDI, documented API rate limits and versioning, or a documented end-of-contract export in open formats, which is what I would want before moving twenty-two brands in.
European sovereignty
Billbee
A German entity (Billbee GmbH, registered at Amtsgericht Korbach, seat Twistetal) under German substantive law, application servers named at the Hetzner datacenter park in Nürnberg on green power, and a data processing agreement under Article 28 offered — a solid European footing. The privacy policy does name US processors in the wider chain (Mixpanel and Segment for analytics, Webflow for the website under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework), and I found no public information on the processors behind the application itself — carrier label APIs, payment, e-mail — or a security certification.
Linnworks
The contracting entity is Linn Systems Ltd of Chichester with an ICO registration, a published ISO 27001 statement, and a processing framework with standard contractual clauses, transfer impact assessments, EEA-transfer consent, breach notification and customer audit rights. The hosting disclosure names AWS without a region, subprocessors are given as categories rather than named companies with locations, and data may be shared within a group that includes SkuVault, Inc of Kentucky — so the chain my clients' recipient addresses travel through is not proven European end to end.
Pricing transparency
Billbee
The public pricing page shows the plan ladder by order volume (Starter up to 200 orders, Growth from 200 orders), a usage-based all-inclusive model with all functions and interfaces and unlimited users included, monthly cancellation with no minimum term, VAT on top, SEPA direct debit, and a 30-day trial without card. I found no public euro figures for the plans or any per-order and per-label fees, which stops me computing a real annual cost for a client from these pages alone.
Linnworks
The pricing page sends every buyer to a quote, so no public price exists to compute an annual cost from; what is public is the model — order volume with no percentage fees, factors of user count, SKU count and customisations, paid add-ons such as stock forecasting and listings management, VAT-exclusive charges, auto-renewal with thirty-day termination notice, and a variable one-off onboarding fee. Even pickwave functionality is flagged as dependent on the plan, so I cannot price a single client brand, let alone twenty-two.
