The written short answer is being updated after a re-evaluation. The scores below are current.

Read this comparison as one judge. Each weighs the same scores by what they care about.

The Skeptic

Assumes the marketing is lying until the evidence says otherwise. Hunts lock-in, dark patterns, hidden cost and dead changelogs. Exists to keep the rest of the panel honest.

Criterion by criterion

Collaboration depth

ClickUp

Multi-user workspaces owned by organizations plus enterprise SAML/SCIM prove this is a shared team tool, but the evidence contains zero evidence of assignments, comments, timelines, dependencies, workload views or guest access — the '100+ products' homepage boast is marketing, not capability. I can't credit planning depth nobody documented.

Scoro

Assignments, capacity planning ('see who's free and who's overloaded, book people's time in advance') and customer portal accounts with limited rights are all concretely evidenced, plus company-level goals that imply cross-project visibility. I stop short of the higher level because we found no public information on task comments or a shared timeline, and the only dependency evidence is a project-level RAID log rather than task-level linking.

Reporting

ClickUp

Not one report, dashboard, time-tracking view, budget or export path appears anywhere on the homepage, pricing page or security page; the only 'log' in the entire sheet is the Enterprise Audit Log, which is a security artifact, not an answer to questions about work. Silence this complete is information.

Scoro

Time and cost tracking, budgeting and client billing are evidenced as modules and data exits via CSV/XLS and an API, so the raw numbers are there. But we found no public information on native dashboards, report builders, scheduled reports or utilization reporting — the consolidation story runs through a third-party Azure SQL app — so this stays mid-grade.

Integrations

ClickUp

Native hooks into Google Drive, GitHub, Salesforce and an MCP surface are claimed, but the only API the evidence evidences is 'Enterprise API' — the public API appears paywalled behind the contact-sales tier, a classic lock-in pattern. No webhooks, no export path, no calendar/Slack evidence.

Scoro

The strongest area: a real marketplace with roughly twenty connectors built by Scoro itself, two-way Google Calendar, Exchange, iCal and Zapier links, webhooks, SCIM, a developer program and native MCP to AI tools. I hold it below the top because every competitor project tool (Asana, Basecamp, ClickUp, Monday.com) connects only via Zapier, and the 'full-featured API' claim is marketing copy with no documentation depth shown, while the terms disclaim any responsibility for the results of data migration, import or export.

Onboarding effort

ClickUp

'Free forever. No credit card.' is verifiable and clears the anchor-5 payment-detail trap, and the free tier is real enough to ship 2FA and a 60MB storage cap. But nothing evidences templates, guided setup or importers, so the hour-to-value claim stays unproven.

Scoro

A 14-day trial with no credit card and self-onboarding guides are real, but first value means choosing among modular apps, packages, add-ons and custom fields a newcomer cannot judge yet — and the vendor sells the help: hour-based onboarding billed separately from the subscription and unstandardized configuration from a 170 EUR minimum. We found no public information on templates or guided setup that would get a small team to a working project fast.

European sovereignty

ClickUp

A San Diego company under US/California governing law 'regardless of your location' with FTC oversight — GDPR badges and a DPA reference are paperwork over substance. EU residency exists only as an Enterprise-plan option on AWS Ireland (CLOUD-Act-reachable US hyperscaler, sales-gated), while the privacy policy explicitly reserves transfers to the US.

Scoro

The contracting entity is an Estonian company with a published DPA, an Estonian supervisory authority and a public subprocessor list, which is more than paperwork. But its own privacy policy reserves storing EU users' personal data outside the EU, e.g. the US; hosting is AWS with Stripe in the payment path — both within CLOUD Act reach; and we found no public information on ownership or where control actually sits. Region selection exists, yet nothing we captured pins residency to the EU contractually.

Support & documentation

ClickUp

The entire support case is a '24/7 Support' badge repeated on three pages — no channel, no response times, no per-plan gating, and not one shred of evidence that docs, a help center or a changelog exist. Even SOC/ISO certificates require emailing sales@clickup.com, which tells you how the funnel is wired.

Scoro

A help center at Com is included in the subscription and comes with a four-level urgency matrix, a call-back phone line, and 24/7 handling of server availability only. The critical-issue target of one business day is explicitly not guaranteed, we found no public information on chat support or a visible changelog, and the support policy itself carries a last update of February 2024 despite 13 major releases or versions in 2024 — the staleness pattern I exist to flag.

Pricing transparency

ClickUp

Per-user prices are public with a genuine free tier, but 'save up to 20%/30% with yearly' means the billing-period premium is a teaser, not a number; tax treatment is unaddressed, Enterprise is contact-sales, and a metered 'AI Super Credits' side-tariff ($0.001/credit) is a hidden-cost vector by design. The headline is not obviously the invoice.

Scoro

Four combination prices are public at €15 user / month, €25 user / month, €25 user / month and €52 user / month, and the trial takes no card — but the payable number is not determinable up front: the monthly-versus-annual difference and tax treatment are unstated, more than 35 add-ons plus separately priced support and onboarding packages carry no public figures, and teams above 50 people are routed to 'Contact us'. The €15 user / month headline covers only tracking and invoicing, not project management.

Only facts both products carry under the same definition — anything else would not be a fair row.
