The written short answer is being updated after a re-evaluation. The scores below are current.

Read this comparison as one judge. Each weighs the same scores by what they care about.

The Product Engineer

Ships experiments behind feature flags and would rather not ship a third-party script at all. Wants server-side SDKs for the stack in use, edge delivery, metrics computed in the warehouse the team already trusts, and an API good enough to build internal tooling on.

VWO

Criterion by criterion

Experiment types & delivery

Varify.io

Client-side coverage is solid and documented — visual editor with CSS/HTML/JS, redirect and split-URL tests, multi-page experiments, full-factorial multivariate tests with automatic combination generation, audience targeting and mutual exclusion — but delivery is the snippet-and-editor model throughout. The only server-side mention is a feature-grid entry, and we found no public documentation of server-side SDKs, feature-flag experiments, holdouts or personalisation.

VWO

The published feature lists cover visual and code editors, A/B/n, split and multivariate tests, single-page-app support, a personalisation module, and mutually exclusive groups on the top tier — a solid client-side programme. But everything I can see is a pricing-page feature grid: we found no public information on server-side SDKs, feature-flag delivery or edge distribution, and feature management appears only as a suite name. I land between a capable client-side tool and one programme across surfaces, weighted toward the client side.

Statistical method & guardrails

Varify.io

The method is named with real assumptions — frequentist by default, one-sided chi-square for rates and a one-sided t-test for value metrics, two-sided and Bayesian as account-level Pro options — plus a significance calculator, a Bayesian runtime forecast to 95 % significance, A/A testing, and written guidance to run at least ten days with 500 conversions per variant and to ignore interim significance. We found no public information on sequential testing or other peeking protection, correction for multiple metrics or variants, sample ratio mismatch detection, variance reduction or guardrail metrics that stop a harmful test.

VWO

Sample ratio mismatch detection and guardrail metrics are listed as Pro features and multi-armed bandit campaigns on the lower tier, so some statistical machinery clearly exists. But we found no public information naming the statistical method, showing confidence or credible intervals, sample-size guidance, or how peeking and multiple comparisons are handled. A feature grid is not a methodology a team can defend to a data scientist.

Consent & visitor tracking

Varify.io

The strongest part of the product: variant playout and tracking are separate, the snippet can serve experiments without consent while tracking fires only after consent via Google Consent Mode V1/V2 or a consent tool, assignment lives in localStorage with no cookies, and the vendor publishes its own ePrivacy reasoning that consent-free variant assignment is exempt. Log files are deleted after 14 days and a general deletion policy exists; we found no public information on per-visitor deletion or a written mapping of every mode to consent requirements.

VWO

The privacy policy states outright that it applies only to the customer and not to the visitors of the customer's website, and the only visitor-facing provision I found is a tracking opt-out. We found no public information on what the test script stores on a device, whether it runs before consent, cookie or storage lifetimes, or integrations with consent management platforms. That leaves the §25 TDDDG questions unanswered on the vendor's own pages and shifted to the customer's paperwork.

Snippet performance & flicker

Varify.io

They publish an 11.5 KB snippet, recommend head placement, and document the anti-flicker script unusually honestly — a configurable 4-second hide, and a warning that it can hurt Core Web Vitals and SEO. We found no public information on measured load cost or Core Web Vitals impact, an asynchronous loading option, self-hosting or first-party-domain delivery, or an edge or server-side alternative for flicker-sensitive tests.

VWO

Self-hosting of the script appears as an enterprise feature and the CDN is described with named providers and ten edge locations, which is more than nothing. We found no public figures for script size or loading behaviour, and no information on flicker handling or Core Web Vitals impact. For a snippet that runs on every page, that silence is the story.

Analytics, data export & integrations

Varify.io

The BigQuery path is real: automatic setup into the customer's own project, raw line-by-line data with no sampling, events displayed as goals, and exact per-combination numbers for e-commerce multivariate tests, alongside GA4 import, a broad set of analytics and tag-manager integrations, results export and an Experiment API offered as an expert function. We found no public information on the API's limits or versioning or on CDP integration for audiences, and metrics still live in the vendor's reporting rather than being defined once and computed in the warehouse.

VWO

Google Analytics is named, an integrations listing exists, Data Studio is a paid add-on, and API access is gated to the enterprise tier with no API documentation visible. Pull-based integrations and data platform access appear only as feature-list items. We found no public information on visitor-level export or streaming to a warehouse, so an experiment result stays a claim I cannot check in my own data.

European sovereignty

Varify.io

A German GmbH registered in Munich, Frankfurt hosting claimed on the vendor's own pages and a data protection officer via heyData, but the privacy policy names neither the hosting provider nor the subprocessors for the testing product itself, and the website chain includes Cloudflare and HubSpot, both US companies, with transfers relying on Data Privacy Framework certification or standard contractual clauses. The captured pages also name the entity differently — Varify Software GmbH in the imprint, Varify GmbH in the privacy policy, same Grünwald address — and we found no public information on a data processing agreement covering the visitor data the script collects.

VWO

The privacy policy states all customer data is stored centrally in Washington DC and Dallas, the contracting entities are Wingify Software Pvt. Ltd. in India together with Wingify Inc., and we found no public information on subprocessors. The EU anchors are an Article 27 representative, offices in Hamburg and Palma, and standard contractual clauses on offer. For a script that records every EU visitor's behaviour, that footing is hard to put in front of legal.

Pricing transparency

Varify.io

Tier prices, annual totals, trial terms and per-tier limits are public — one domain, unlimited subdomains, unlimited traffic, five active experiments on Growth — and the flat rate means the invoice does not depend on traffic estimates. The captured pages give different figures for the entry price — '€119 per month' on the homepage, a starting price of 199 €, and 249 € as the Growth monthly price on the plans page — while AI credits are priced only as 'a monthly credit package or with your own API key', Enterprise services are 'quoted separately', and we found no public information on VAT treatment or minimum term.

VWO

Tier structure and included features are published, a free trial and free tools exist, and the traffic basis surfaces as monthly tracked users in a pricing question. But the pricing page states there are no fixed plans, only a custom proposal, and we found no price figures, traffic limits or overage terms on the captured pages — the annual invoice is not computable from public information. Wingz AI Core is free with all products while the Advanced tier is marked a paid upgrade with no figure shown.
