Bookkeeping core
How this is scored
Double-entry, the chart of accounts (SKR03/SKR04), postings, journals, opening balances and period closing — the ledger underneath the pretty screens.
0 — Not a bookkeeping tool; the product writes invoices or tracks spending but keeps no books.
3 — Income and expenses recorded by category, suitable for an EÜR; the chart of accounts and free postings are basic or not described.
5 — Bookkeeping on SKR03 or SKR04 with manual postings, EÜR and double-entry supported, and standard reports such as P&L, BWA or balance sheet.
8 — Full double-entry ledger with opening balances and journals, cost centres, recurring and reversing entries, accruals, multi-year comparatives, and a period close with locking.
10 — An accountant's ledger: configurable charts including customised accounts, period locking with audit, foreign currency with documented valuation, group or multi-entity handling, and reporting that reconciles to the trial balance.
The Founder
There is a real ledger under the screens: payroll books its journal entry straight into the administration, complete annual financial statements for micro and small firms come directly out of the books, and bank transactions are read automatically into the accounting. We found no public information on opening balances, cost centres, or closing and locking a period, so it sits mid-table rather than at an accountant's ledger. 1 4 5
