The short answer

Gastronovi and LINA TeamCloud divide the bench, and no overall winner emerges. Gastronovi leads payments and fees (6.3 vs 4.0), operations and locations (8.0 vs 7.0) and pricing transparency (7.2 vs 5.5), with six judges leaning its way on each. LINA TeamCloud leads sovereignty (5.0 vs 4.0, six judges), accounting and portability (6.2 vs 5.0, five judges) and, narrowly, fiscal compliance (6.0 vs 5.7; two lean LINA TeamCloud, four tie) and checkout and hardware (5.3 vs 4.8; three lean LINA TeamCloud, one Gastronovi, two tie). Of four published weighted totals, three favour Gastronovi — fee-conscious merchant 6.4 to 5.3, operations manager 5.8 to 5.5, skeptic 5.7 to 5.4 — and the tax adviser favours LINA TeamCloud 5.6 to 5.3. Gastronovi publishes licence tiers of 69, 59 and 49 € per month; LINA TeamCloud publishes Core ab 99 €, Pro ab 249 €, Max ab 399 € net per month.

Choose Gastronovi if

  • You run several branches or a franchise and want central articles, recipes and suppliers inherited to locations with local overrides — operations and locations leans Gastronovi six judges to none (8.0 vs 7.0).
  • Card fees decide your margin — payments and fees leans Gastronovi six judges to none (6.3 vs 4.0); its verdict credits card fees published per type and volume, while the LINA TeamCloud verdict found no published fee per card type, acquirer or payout timing.
  • You need published licence prices before signing — pricing transparency leans Gastronovi six judges to none (7.2 vs 5.5), with tiers of 69, 59 and 49 € per month and a 17 % annual discount.
  • Your priorities match the fee-conscious merchant, operations manager or skeptic profile — those published weighted totals favour Gastronovi at 6.4 vs 5.3, 5.8 vs 5.5 and 5.7 vs 5.4.

Choose LINA TeamCloud if

  • Your tax adviser must sign off the till — fiscal compliance leans LINA TeamCloud on two judges with four ties (6.0 vs 5.7); the verdict names both TSE routes, fiskaly's cloud TSE on Frankfurt servers and Swissbit hardware, with DSFinV-K interfaces and a GoBD-conform cash book.
  • You want clean hand-off to accounting or a later switch of systems — accounting and portability leans LINA TeamCloud on five judges with one tie (6.2 vs 5.0).
  • Procurement weighs vendor sovereignty heavily — the panel leans LINA TeamCloud six judges to none (5.0 vs 4.0); both are German legal entities, with LINA TeamCloud's subprocessor exposure listed as US CLOUD Act exposure and Gastronovi's listed as unknown.
  • You want a named hardware line at the till — checkout and hardware leans LINA TeamCloud three judges to one with two ties (5.3 vs 4.8); the verdict records judges split 4 to 6, the 6 scores crediting a real, named hardware line.
  • Your weighting mirrors the tax adviser's — that judge's published weighted total favours LINA TeamCloud, 5.6 vs 5.3.

The Retail Shop Owner

Owns a stationery and gift shop with a second branch across town and about four thousand articles, many in several colours. Wants barcodes scanned at the till, stock that shows what the other branch still has, transfers between the two shops, suppliers and reorders in the same back office, vouchers that work in both branches, and the month's sales handed to the tax adviser without a USB stick.

Criterion by criterion

Checkout, receipts & hardware

Gastronovi

The till runs on terminals, tablets and smartphones, receipts are issued digitally by QR code or email to the 2025 e-invoice standard, an offline mode is stated for the front office, and preconfigured payment terminals with touchscreens, printers and 4G come with an exchange service. We found no public information on supported receipt printers, cash drawers or barcode scanners, on returns and cancellations, or on how long and how far the offline mode keeps a sale going — as a shop that scans every article at the till, I would need the scanner question answered before the second branch.

LINA TeamCloud

The till runs on the vendor's own named hardware — a 15.6-inch Audrey stand terminal, an RS10 handheld, LINA receipt printers and payment terminals — with a customer monitor, split and merged bills, an e-receipt with cloud backup, and offline-capable hardware with master data in the cloud. For a retail till like mine, we found no public information on barcode scanner or scale support, a third-party printer and drawer compatibility list, or returns and cancellations at the till, and no description of how long offline operation lasts or which payments keep working.

Card payments & fees

Gastronovi

Gastronovi Pay is the integrated route with girocard, Visa, Mastercard, Amex, Klarna, Apple Pay and Google Pay, tap-to-pay on iPhone or Android, tip suggestions and the amount passed straight to the terminal, and the fees are published properly: girocard 0,10% up to 50.000 € a month, Visa and Mastercard from 0,70%, Amex 3,65%, plus per-transaction cents in tiers. We found no public information on payout timing, terminal prices or keeping my own acquirer, and the regulated payment institution behind the product is not named.

LINA TeamCloud

Payment is genuinely built in — EC and credit cards, Apple Pay and Google Pay, QR and contactless, card payment directly on the mobile till without a separate terminal, one contract and no monthly base fee, only the actual payment costs. But we found no published fee per card type, no named acquirer or payment institution, no terminal prices and no payout timing, so I cannot work out what a card sale would cost me.

Fiscal compliance (TSE, DSFinV-K, RKSV)

Gastronovi

The pages name fiskaly as the cloud-TSE provider for Germany with monthly pricing and transaction tiers, offer a digital cash book, and cover Austria by name with the RKSV licence, A-Trust signing and FinanzOnline registration — receipts carry the KassenSichV signature and go out digitally. We found no public information on a DSFinV-K export, a BSI certificate for the TSE, ten-year GoBD storage or a Verfahrensdokumentation, which is the first thing my tax adviser would ask about.

LINA TeamCloud

The fiscal chain is documented with names: a cloud TSE from fiskaly on Frankfurt servers or a Swissbit hardware TSE orderable in the shop, DSFinV-K-conformant interfaces, an automatic GoBD and KassenSichV cash book with the daily closing done in five minutes, plus support for the cash-register registration duty and the receipt obligation. We found no public information on the BSI certificate, ten-year GoBD archiving, a procedure documentation template, or fiscal rules beyond Germany.

Inventory, tables, staff & locations

Gastronovi

Articles, recipes and suppliers are maintained centrally and inherited to each branch with local overrides, purchasing is bundled across suppliers with a direct price comparison, stocktaking runs on mobile devices, staff get individual roles and rights, and the multi-site module is an explicit control centre for franchises with cross-branch real-time reporting; vouchers and customer cards sit in one database redeemable at every location — close to the two-branch backbone I run. We found no public information on stock transfers between branches, per-employee void and cash-difference logs, or variants for one article in several colours, which my four thousand articles in many colours would need.

LINA TeamCloud

The stock side is what I want to see: supplier and article management with several suppliers, automatic order suggestions and reordering to target stock, digital inventory counts, live stock and recipes, staff roles and rights, central articles, prices and menus in the cloud, and monitoring of TSEs and activities across several locations. For my two branches, we found no public information on stock transfers between branches, colour variants of one article, or per-employee cancellation logs and cross-branch sales reports.

Accounting handoff, DATEV & data export

Gastronovi

A DATEV-format interface is free of charge with cumulative and single-booking export, ETL ADHOGA adds a chart-of-accounts export, accounting exports are automated, and a long list of named integrations carries set prices — the monthly handover to my tax adviser has a documented path. We found no public information on a documented API or webhooks, on DATEV Kassenarchiv online, or on a complete export of articles, customers and sales when the contract ends.

LINA TeamCloud

This is the strongest part for me: a DATEV interface, DATEV MeinFiskal with the Kassenarchiv online, digital receipt images to the DATEV Belegbilderservice, an automatically generated DATEV Rechnungswesen pro file from the cash book, and data exportable for audits — the month reaches my tax adviser without a USB stick. We found no public information on a merchant API with webhooks, separate booking of card payouts and fees, or a complete export of articles, customers and fiscal journals when the contract ends.

European sovereignty

Gastronovi

The contracting entity is Gastronovi GmbH in Bremen with a commercial register entry and VAT number, there is an external German data-protection officer, and the privacy policy names rapidmail in Freiburg for newsletters, LogMeIn under Article 28 with EU standard contractual clauses, and Atlassian in Australia with EU clauses for the status page, with a copy of the clauses available on request. We found no public information on where the till, payment and TSE data are hosted or on security certifications, so the chain is only partly visible on the captured pages.

LINA TeamCloud

The contracting entity is Gastro-MIS GmbH in Gräfelfing with a Munich register number, all data is stated to be stored in Germany with the fiskaly cloud TSE on Frankfurt servers, and an Art. 28 GDPR data processing agreement exists. The privacy policy itself allows that an external provider operates the servers without naming it, we found no published subprocessor list, WhatsApp communication runs through Meta Platforms Ireland with a US parent, and we found no public information on security certifications.

Pricing transparency

Gastronovi

Almost the whole bill is public on one page: the first till licence is 69 € monthly, the second to fifth 59 € and from the sixth 49 €, modules are individually priced (cash book 24 € monthly, stock 129 €, the multi-site control centre 119 € plus 249 € one-off setup), the cloud-TSE is 14 € monthly with 10,000 transactions included and 9 € per further 10,000, card fees are published per card type, and minimum term, notice and auto-renewal are all stated. We found no public information on hardware prices, support-package prices or the VAT treatment of the figures, so the annual total for my two shops including terminals is still not fully computable.

LINA TeamCloud

The three plans are public with net monthly prices — 99€ / Monat, 249€ / Monat and 399€ / Monat, each costing more without the payment module — the included POS licences per package are stated, and further licences at 49€, the kitchen or bar monitor at 49€ and each order kiosk at 75€ are priced. For a two-branch budget we found no published prices for the TSE monthly booking, hardware, card transaction fees, setup or support, and the minimum contract term appears only as an FAQ topic without its figure.
