Capture in the real workplace
Papershift
App, browser and a tablet-based terminal for shared clock-in are all evidenced, offline use with cloud sync is claimed, and employees can view and edit their own times while managers approve them — that covers my office, workshop and field crews. We found no public information on dedicated hardware terminals or badge readers, on bulk corrections, or on the stated limits of the GPS geofencing, so it stays one step below the top of the scale.
TimeTac
This is the part that matters to me: web, mobile apps, and three generations of RFID/fingerprint terminals from €29.90 a month, so the office, the workshop wall and the field crews all have a path. Mobile capture works offline and can stamp GPS/NFC position, and staff can correct their own bookings with or without supervisor approval. I hold it under an 8 because the evidence says nothing about bulk correction, no audit trail of who changed what, and no stated limits on the GPS locating.
